Our AHS SNHS chapter is named after

    Selena Quintanilla Pérez.

    The purpose of the Society is to recognize academic achievement in Spanish by members

    and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies and communities.


    This organization, the Sociedad Honorária Hispánica,

    was founded by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portugese

    in 1953 for North American High School Students. 

    Stephen F. Austin High School’s chapter was founded by Dr. Bobbette Dunn in 1995.
