Mrs. Kara Burrous

Welcome to AP Biology and AAC Chemistry.  I have been an Austin Bulldog since the Fall of 2005 and I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else.  My primary goal is to grow your students into critical thinkers and develop a curiosity for the world around them.   I grew up in Houston and after high school I studied biology and chemistry at Stephen F. Austin State University.  In 2000, I began my teaching career in East Texas and moved back to the Houston area in 2003 with my family. During my years, I have taught biology, pre-AP biology, chemistry in addition to the courses I am currently teaching.  In 2010, I received my Masters in Science, Science Education from Montana State University.   I have a passion for science education and find new opportunities to grow professionally.  In my free time I love spending time in Galveston, enjoying the outdoors wherever I am, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with my family.  

 

Teacher Tutorial Schedule

    Afternoon Tutorials:

    Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoon (2:50 - 3:30 pm).  No pass required.  IF you need a note for an extracurricular activity - please let me know. 

    If for some reason you can not attend tutorials at these times - you can make an appointment with me by requesting via email.  I will get back with you on times I am able and send you a morning pass if needed. 

     

    Helpful Hints
    • If you are absent, please check schoology folder for the day.  Each day there is an agenda and all work is uploaded with tutorial videos for that lesson.  
    • Please do not use schoology messanger function to contact me - email from your office school email, include your class and period in the subject.  Be specific in your message.
