My name is Kaley Dean and I come from a long line of educators. My grandfather was a superintendent in HISD and my mother pioneered the special education department at River Oaks Elementary School. The reason I went into special ed teaching and then counseling is because I have always felt driven to help those around me find peace and progress even when dealing with difficult problems. Education and counseling have always felt like my one true calling.    

During my free time, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, baking cookies, eating Tex Mex, hiking in the mountains, and I also love beach vacations in the Caribbean.

I am so excited to be working at Austin High School! I look forward to spending time with my students and guiding them through these important high school years.
