Mrs. Michele Lytle

I was born and raised in a small town about twenty miles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The summer prior to graduating from college, I worked as a congressional intern for Georgia Congressional representative Stanford Bishop.  The following spring, I earned a degree in Accounting from Widener University, in Chester, Pennsylvania.  I landed my first job at C-SPAN in Washington, D.C., where I worked as a staff accountant.  As I progressed in my business career, I worked for four years as a senior financial analyst.  I enjoyed the financial gains working in corporate America. However, in that season, corporate was not the best fit for me.  I began substitute teaching in January 2000, with the School District of Philadelphia.  There, I fell in love with teaching and discovered a passion for supporting and uplifting inner-city youth.  I taught in Philadelphia from 2000-2007, teaching all HS math subjects (Pre-Alg, Alg I, Alg II, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Discrete Math, PSSA Test Prep, and SAT Prep).  In 2011, I was offered a job with Camelot Education as a 7th and 8th grade mathematics and science teacher.  The Camelot schools partner with school districts across the country, providing behavioral and academic support to at-risk young people.  In 2012, I was promoted to an Instructional Coach and became a member of Camelot's Start-Up School Implementation Team.  I was instrumental in the start-up and opening four of Camelot alternative education programs in New Jersey and Texas.  In 2013, I relocated to Houston to support Camelot's largest start-up program, Beechnut Academy [Houston Independent School District (HISD)].  In March 2017, HISD restructured their Discipline of Alternative Education Programs (DAEP) and launched their own internal program.  In April 2017, I transitioned back to traditional education and was hired by Fort Bend ISD!  I am a resident of Fort Bend ISD, and I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of this GREAT school district.  I am planning to plant deep roots as I serve the awesome students and families of Fort Bend ISD!

Over the past 7 years, I have taught at Bush HS, Marshall HS, and I now belong to the Eagle's Nest at The Willowridge High School, where Eagle Pride Never Dies! In 2022, I was awarded and named HAASBE (Houston Area Alliance of Black Schools Educators) Teacher of the Year.

During COVID, I earned a masters' degree at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) in Secondary Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM focus.
