  • Visual arts offers Art I, Painting II/II, and Drawing III for the students here at Willowridge High School.

    High School Art 1 is a course that provides an introduction to art through a multi-media experience. Students will learn and apply the elements and principles of design in both two and three-dimensional art forms to produce creative art projects that reflect their understanding of these concepts. Students will also become acquainted with various artist past and present as well as art history.

    This curriculum provides a broad base of art experiences including: design, drawing, printmaking, painting, and lettering. Art production will be addressed in order for students to gain knowledge and understanding of the visual arts and a foundation upon which to make a sound aesthetic judgment. In order to succeed in this class, students must meet all required criteria given for each assignment, be prepared to question and critique their own work, the work of their peers, and the work of other artists.

    Painting II/III is a course that engulfs students in drawing and painting techniques. Students will learn and apply the elements and principles of design through drawing and painting with pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. Students will also become acquainted with various artist past and present as well as art history.
    This curriculum provides a broad base of art experiences including: design, drawing, printmaking, painting, and
    lettering. Art production will be addressed in order for students to gain knowledge and understanding of the visual arts and a foundation upon which to make a sound aesthetic judgment. In order to succeed in this class, students
