Speech and Debate is a club to instruct kids in how to express themselves in constructive and effective ways as well as learn to respectfully disagree with those who have a different perspective than them. Club members will learn to research, communicate, think critically and learn argumentative skills. They will become better orators and analytical thinkers while learning performance and persuasion, which are necessary 21st century skills.

Students are required to be in good academic standing, specifically 70% or higher in all classes. The must maintain UIL eligibility throughout the course of the year. In addition they must also have interest in:

• Professionalism
• Public Speaking
• Problem solving
