Willowridge High School Summer Reading 2019
Please select from the titles listed below for the summer reading assignment. When you return to Willowridge to begin your English III or English IIIAP course, you should be prepared to discuss the book, using specific textual evidence to support your assertions about the novel. I also recommend researching the author perhaps to gain insight into the impetus for the book.
English IIIAP: Select ONE of the texts below…I will not be upset if you decide to read more than one.
Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dauber
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
The Devil in the White City by Erik Larsen
English III: Please select ONE of the texts below. If you believe you will be in my class, please elect to read the first title.
Black Boy by Richard Wright
A Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Michael Dorris
Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns
