OnRampsAt Willowridge High School, we seek to provide students with opportunities to earn college credit while in high school. One of the programs we offer is OnRamps. OnRamps is a dual enrollment partnership with the University of Texas at Austin which allows us to provide rigorous college-level courses created by university professors. Our highly trained teachers facilitate these courses through face-to-face instruction and hybrid distance-learning modalities. The OnRamps program allows students to engage in authentic college experiences and dynamic opportunities while lowering the barriers to access college courses. What's the DifferenceWith OnRamps, students are not required to show college readiness by demonstrating proficiency on the TSIA-2 test. Unlike dual credit courses, students in OnRamps courses earn two separate grades: a weighted high school grade which is awarded on the high school transcript and a separate college grade that is given by the university professor and awarded on their college transcript. If a student is not satisfied with their college grade, they can choose to decline the college credit, and the grade will not be recorded on the college transcript nor will it be reported to any college to which they may apply in the future. By completing an OnRamps class, students will have experienced a college course with college-level rigor, expectations, and deadlines, even if they choose to decline the college credit.Current Course Offerings at WHSFor more information, please visit the OnRamps website
