My name is Lataha Edwards and I currently serve as a Special Education Department Chair at Ronald Thornton Middle School

I am a mother of 5 beautiful children and one is still in grade school and attends school in the Fort Bend ISD area.

As a 5th year employee at the best school district in Texas, I am truly excited about the 2024-2025 school year. Serving in the special education community has been an honor and a privilege to get a little glimpse of the students' lives on a daily basis. 

I attended Grand Canyon University where I earned my Masters in Education in Curriculum & Instruction. I also attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. Served as a Case Worker in the community for 8 years prior to working in education. I have enjoyed working with individuals in special education for the last 17 years.  

Life is just full of excitement and challenges that can happen at any corner.

It is important to remember that with little struggle there will be little progress can be obtained, but with great struggle, there will be great progress.
