Ms. Rachelle M. Boudreaux, M.Ed.

Welcome Thundercats!

I'm so happy you are here! My name is Ms. Boudreaux and I will be your teacher for 6th grade Math. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

This will be my third year at RTMS. This academic school year I will teach 6th grade Math & 6th Grade Pre-AP and serve as Math Department Chair. I have over 17 years of experience in education both as a teacher and Math Instructional Specialist. I am a native Houstonian, and a proud graduate of Jack Yates High School. My undergraduate studies were at the University of Houston (main campus) in Houston, TX. Go Coogs!! I had the opportunity of studying Pre-Med & Kinesiology with a minor in Health. I have also earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.

As an educator, I encourage my students to not be overwhelmed by how much work they do, but by how well they do it. I carry this same philosophy in teaching them strategies to become successful. It is not about teaching students various strategies but ones that will be of the most value to their learning style. I teach students to embrace their learning modality even if it is not like their peers. Having a different learning preference is OK, and I want all students to understand that discovery learning and their curiosity for exploring are vital to their educational growth. I can not wait to become part of your student's learning experience.

I am a proud mother of three sons, one serving in the US Navy and two in college. My Suga-mama, is the little diva of the crew, and she keeps her big brothers on their toes. I'm now a proud grandmother of a grandson (Kai). I became a teacher in hopes of affecting students the way I was affected when I was young. Providing them with more than just knowledge but a basis and respect for learning, growth, and curiosity that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I hope to do so, and I can't wait to work with each and every one of you!
