Ms. Rachelle M. Boudreaux, M.Ed.

Welcome Thundercats!

I'm so happy you are here! My name is Ms. Boudreaux and I will be your teacher for 8th grade Science. I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself.

This will be my fourth year at RTMS. I initially started here teaching Math and served as the Math department head for a few years, but I’ve decided to return to my first love—Science. This academic year, I will be teaching 8th grade Science and 8th Grade Pre-AP Science. I have over 17 years of experience in education, having served both as a teacher and a Math Instructional Specialist. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in Aldine ISD, Houston ISD, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, and Katy ISD, where I played a key role in improving campus accountability ratings in both Math and Science.

I am a native Houstonian and a proud graduate of Jack Yates High School. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Houston (main campus), where I majored in Pre-Med and Kinesiology with a minor in Health. Go Coogs! I also earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership, along with Principal Certification, from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctoral degree at Houston Christian University.

As an educator, I encourage my students to focus not on the quantity of work they do, but on the quality of their efforts. I apply this philosophy in teaching them strategies for success, emphasizing the importance of using the techniques that best suit their learning styles. I help students embrace their unique learning modalities, reassuring them that it's okay if their approach differs from that of their peers. I want all students to understand that embracing discovery and nurturing curiosity are crucial to their educational growth. I am excited to be a part of your student's learning journey.

I am a proud mother of three sons—one serving in the US Navy and two currently in college. My daughter, affectionately known as "Suga-mama," is the little diva of the family, always keeping her big brothers on their toes. I'm also a proud grandmother to my grandson, Kai. I became a teacher with the hope of impacting students the way I was positively influenced when I was young. My goal is to provide them with more than just knowledge, but also a foundation of respect for learning, growth, and curiosity that they will carry with them throughout their lives. I look forward to working with each one of you!
