Ms. Rachelle M. Boudreaux, M.Ed.

Welcome Thundercats!

I'm so happy you are here! My name is Ms. Boudreaux and I will be your teacher for 6th grade Math. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am excited to be joining the RTMS team this academic school year, teaching 6th grade Math & 6th Grade Pre-AP. I bring over 14 years of experience in education both as a teacher and Math Instructional Specialist. I am a native Houstonian, proud graduate of Jack Yates High School. My undergraduate studies were at the University of Houston (main campus) in Houston, TX. Go Coogs!! I had the opportunity of studying Pre-Med & Kinesiology with a minor in Health. I have also earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.

As, an educator I encourage my students to not be overwhelmed with how much work they do, but how well they do it. I carry this same philosophy in teaching them strategies. It is not about teaching students several strategies but ones that will be of most value to their learning style. I teach students to embrace their learning modality even if it is not like their peers’. Having a different learning preference is OK, and I want all students to understand that discovery learning and their curiosity for exploring is vital to their educational growth. I can not wait to become apart of your students learning experience.

I am a proud mother of three sons, one serving in the US Navy and two in college. My Suga-mama, she is the little diva of the crew, and she keeps her big brothers on their toes. I became a teacher in hopes of affecting students the way I was affected when I was young. Providing them with more than just knowledge but a basis and a respect for learning and growth and curiosity that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I hope to do so, and I can't wait to work with each and every one of you!
