Welcome to RTMS 8th ELA

 

I am Mrs. Lewis, your 8th-grade ELA teacher at Ronald Thornton Middle School. This is my 7th year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in English. I recently obtained a Master of Public Administration from Lamar University in May 2024. In the 8th-grade English Language Arts curriculum, we will explore a diverse range of literary genres, including classic literature, contemporary fiction, poetry, and nonfiction texts. Your child will engage in stimulating discussions, participate in creative writing exercises, and undertake exciting projects designed to enhance their language skills and nurture their love for reading.  I strive to inspire students to love English Language Arts as much as I do. As an advocate for personalized learning, I strive to accommodate various learning styles and ensure that every student can reach their full potential.
