6th Grade Duke Tip Information:
The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented youth currently in grades 4th -6th. Duke TIP works with students, their families and educators to identify, recognize, challenge, engage and help students reach their highest potential.
If you would like your student to participate in this talent identification program, he/she must meet the qualification criteria. The criteria is as follows (Duke TIP set the criteria):
- 4th Grade Math: score of 1785 or better
- 4th Grade Reading: score of 1747 or better
- 5th Grade Math: score of 1845 or better
- 5th Grade Reading: score of 1781
- 5th Grade Science: score of 4531 or better
Your studentcan use either their 4th or 5th grade STAAR scored to qualify for the program. Students only need to meet the criteria on one approved subtest-area (4th Grade - Reading or Math; 5th Grade - Reading, Math or Science) to be eligible for the program.
