Hello, my name is Ms. Delgado and I am entering my fourteenth year of teaching at Kempner High School.  I have worked in Education in other capacities since August of 2000.  I immigrated from Mexico when I was 5 years old.  I am passionate about teaching the language and sharing cultural experiences, such as taking students to Spain to earn college credit. My deep love for language makes teaching a true joy. I attended University of Kansas where I fell in love with teaching as a way to reach students and share my experience as an immigrant and a second language learner. During my travels to several Spanish Speaking countries, I developed a strong foundation in Spanish language and literature. To further and deepen my expertise, I pursued a Master’s degree at the prestigious University of Salamanca in Spain, immersing myself in the heart of Spanish culture and education. With this diverse educational experience, I bring a dynamic and authentic approach to teaching Spanish, I strive to inspire my students to connect with the language on a deeper level. I currently serve as President of The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), Received the 2023 TFLA Excellence in Teaching Award, and was the 2023 Teacher of the Year recipient of AATSP. I am a lifelong learner who loves continuing her education in various areas. 

She believes that Spanish opens exciting doors to anyone who uses it in their life.
