I am a life-long educator, one who has dedicated herself to improving literacy skills in high school students. I have over twenty years of experience teaching all levels of high school English, mostly at the AP level. I serve as a reader and table leader for the AP Language exam, and I have served as a writing center director for several high school campuses. In 2020, I was awarded the Texas Humanities Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award and in 2018 and 2023 I was awarded the Susan O'Connor Excellence in Writing Instruction Award for Region 4. 

At KHS, I currently teach AP English III, AP Seminar, and AP Research classes. Additionally, I support the Gifted and Talented program at Kempner. I believe in the power of literacy and service to build a stronger, more empathetic and more united global community, and I am excited to work with the young leaders at KHS.
