Degrees and Certifications:

B.A. in Chemistry Composite Science 7-12 CPR

Mrs. Danielle Buchanan

Danielle teaches Forensic Science at Kempner High School. She graduated from Lamar University with a B.A. in Chemistry in the fall of 2013. While contemplating the next steps to utilize her degree she began working as the assistant teacher in a 3-4 year-old preschool room and fell in love with teaching. Danielle decided to put her degree to work and started substitute teaching at various high schools in LCISD. After obtaining an alternative certification through ACT Houston she was hired at Kempner in the fall of 2015 to teach Advanced Chemistry and IPC. During the 2016-17 school year she taught her first Forensic Science class. To her excitement, the class size grew from one to six sections by 2019. Recently, she has partnered with a student focused tour group and has taken students to Scotland, England, and Japan! She enjoys sharing her love of travel and learning with her students. This will be her ninth year at Kempner and she hopes to have many more!
