Coach Bird received her Bachelors of Science in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin.  She received her masters in science teaching with a specializing in astronomy and physics from Rice University.   After graduating she taught science in Papua New Guinea as a Peace Corps volunteer, in Oregon at Jesuit HS, Center for Advanced Learning (charter engineering school), and small private schools in Texas.     This is her 21st year of instruction and her 10th year at Kempner High School. 

Coach Bird also coaches the Kempner Women's Soccer team.  She has been coaching club and highschool for 18 years.
