Hello! I'm Peter Blessinger, and I've been passionate about teaching since 2011. Before stepping into the classroom, I honed my skills in employee training, development, and sales at two multinational telecommunications and media corporations. My love for Social Studies fuels my curiosity about people, cultures, history, and places around the world.

Born and raised in New York, NY, I embarked on my college journey in San Francisco, CA, and eventually settled in Houston, TX. For the past 17 years, I've been proud to call Sugar Land home, enjoying life in this vibrant city. As a proud graduate of the University of Houston—Go Coogs!—I'm excited to welcome your students into my classroom. Together, we'll embark on a journey to explore the world, connecting our learning to economics, society, political structures, and the environment.

At Kempner High School, I have the privilege of working with an incredible team in the Social Studies department. We're led by our outstanding Principal, Dr. Jackson, and supported by effective administrative staff who truly care about our students' success. As a co-sponsor of the Student Council (STUCO), I enjoy working with students after school and on weekends, fostering leadership and community engagement.

My teaching philosophy centers on creating lifelong learners who develop a love for intellectual curiosity. I aim to ensure that students look back on their high school years with fondness, remembering the excitement of discovery and the joy of learning.

Fun fact: I've lived on three different U.S. coasts—East, West, and Gulf—giving me a unique perspective on the diverse cultures and environments across the country.
