Welcome to Kempner!

My name is Cannie Dobbins. I am the Physical Education and Health Teacher at Kempner HS. While serving as Offensive Coordinator for the football program, I will also be part of the Lady Cougar Softball program as an assistant coach. I am beginning my 10th year in education and starting my first year at Kempner. My previous stops include Brazosport HS, Ronald Thornton MS, West Brazos MS, Stafford MS/HS, Lake Jackson Intermediate and First Colony MS.  I played football at Blinn College and finished up my studies at University of Houston Victoria, receiving my Bachelors. After completing my Bachelors, I received my Masters from Concordia University. I am also a proud FBISD alum who graduated from Dulles High School, so it is truly awesome to be back at FBISD.

Together with my wife of 18 years, who is also a FBISD Alum from Willowridge High School, we have 3 wonderful children who all attend and have attended FBISD schools. Canada 2024 Hightower Grad, Chloe 10th (Crawford HS) Cannie IV 3rd Grade (HRE). In my free time, I love watching football and movies. 

My expectation this year is to build positive relationships with students and parents/guardians. Once we establish a positive educator-stakeholder relationship, we can begin to focus on what we desire to achieve throughout the school year. As your teacher, I will serve as your tour guide through this year's academic experience.
