Hi! My name is Kim McNair and I will be teaching SAILS (Succeed in Academic and Independent Living Skills) here at Kempner High School.

With 20 years of experience in special education, I am passionate about empowering students with disabilities to reach their full potential. My journey has spanned both middle and high school levels, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and triumphs faced by students at these critical stages of development.

For the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of working with high school students, guiding them towards independence, academic success, and post-secondary options. Prior to that, I spent 8 years nurturing young minds in middle school, building a strong foundation for their future learning and growth.

My commitment to student success extends beyond my teaching experience. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration, which allows me to approach education with a strategic and results-oriented mindset. Additionally, I am a proud member of the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) and a Board Certified Advocate in Special Education (BCASE) through NASET, demonstrating my ongoing dedication to professional growth and advocacy for my students.

I am committed to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where every student feels valued and has the opportunity to thrive.

Outside the classroom, I find immense joy in spending time with my family. Blessed with 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, my free time is dedicated to cherishing these precious moments and creating lasting memories.
