Staff Library FAQs
-
What if I need to use the library 4th period?
Contact Yvonne Shelby and let's work things out!
-
How many students can I send down?
Up to 3, at a time.
Please call (x42053), first, to make sure the library can take them, if:- you are a substitute;
- it is 5th period, or;
- you need to send more than 3 students.
It's not always easy to accept these groups due to multiple classes. Additionally, without a library aide, there will be more closures than in the past, as the librarian cannot teach AND attend to walk-ins.
-
Do I need to write a pass?
Yes, if it's during the school day and NOT their lunch period. Be sure to include their names.
Alternatively, you can walk them down and make sure I know it's okay that they're here.
Note that we will be closed during 4th period, daily, unless we make prior arrangements.
-
How do I sign up to use the library (before/during school)?
Contact the librarian, so that we can better plan.
-
How do I sign up to use the library (after school)?
Contact the librarian to make sure the date/time is clear.
Be sure to see George Long (or Erika Hackworth) to fill out a Building-Use Form.
-
Can we bring food or candy?
The library typically does not allow food (see Student Library FAQs for reasons).
Even the library staff does not eat in the library area!
However, if we have things pre-planned, we can let the custodians know that a special event is taking place, so that they can move their vacuuming day to after that event.
