Nikisha Martin

I am proud to be a part of the Bronco Nation family for over 19 years. I attended Sam Houston State University for three years and ultimately graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biology. Currently, I teach Physics, Anatomy, and Medical Terminology. When I'm not in the classroom, I find joy in event planning, relaxing near water, and decorating.

In addition to my teaching role, I've been the cheer coach for 14 years and an assistant track and basketball coach. My passion for teaching and coaching stems from my high school years as a four-year basketball letterman.

For me, teaching and coaching are about shaping character, fostering a sense of community, and creating an environment where students feel excited and motivated to come to school and have school pride. Growing up, my teachers and coaches had a profound positive influence on me. They were mentors, role models, and motivators, and their impact went beyond the playing field, instilling values of teamwork, perseverance, and integrity that have stayed with me throughout my life. Their influence is a testament to the power of education and coaching, and I strive to replicate that impact in my own career.

In essence, my 'why' is driven by the desire to give back and be the positive influence my teachers and coaches were for me. I aim to impact lives, build a thriving school culture, and ensure every student can reflect on their school years with pride and joy, knowing they were part of something special. I believe that a positive school culture can inspire students to achieve their best and create a supportive environment for learning and growth.
