Welcome to Mrs. Ford's 5th Grade Class!!

I am beyond excited and proud to be a part of Dalmation Nation! This will be my 7th year of teaching and I have enjoyed the journey every step of the way. I feel truly blessed to be able to work with our young learners in such a meaningful and impactful way.  Our students are our future and it's both exciting and rewarding to see the growth and development start to take shape in each and everyone of them! My true passion is teaching my students  to fall in love with reading and writing.  I believe that laying down a strong foundation in the elementary grade levels sets our students up for success! I look forward to seeing all of the growth and learning that will take place in my classroom this year.

About me! I am a Louisiana native, and grew up in a family of educators. I recieved my BS in Finance and started a career as an Analyst in Oil and Gas. I later decided to follow my passion and persued my Texas Teaching Certificate in 2016. I am reminded on a daily basis of how lucky I am to have been able to have to courage and will power to journey a career path that is so aligned to my ideals, passions, and interests. I recently received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. My husband and I were married in December of 2018 and have been embracing the excitement and commitment that marriage brings to our lives! We love FBISD and proudly support our district's vision and mission!
