FCMS participated in lessons about bullying, cyberbullying, UNITY and joined the nationwide NPFH Kickoff in October. These activities blended and combined to allow ALL students and staff participation. During Advisory class, students participated in a presentation including PACER provided materials about Teens Against Bullying. Teachers facilitated several slides of reflection and discussion questions that were provided. Students did “think pair share” and answered “whole class” discussion questions about recognizing bullying, cyberbullying, teasing, hateful words, name-calling, and how to react, what students could stay to stand up and be an upstander, and how to report bullying situations. This was a required activity for ALL students to do and it is part of the FBISD scope and sequence for counselors. Our counselors worked with our NPFH committee to practice and present the materials and make sure students would participate. We used the NPFH Kickoff in the library on October 12 to include our committee members, PAL students, Teen Leadership classes and staff members to attend in the library. No Place For Hate Pledge activity was done in classes during this time. NPFH committee also led Unity Day on October 18th. Announcements were made on our broadcast announcements about UNITY and the NPFH Pledge.
