Welcome! My name is Ms. Thiel (theel).  I am coming to you with  more than 25 years of teaching experience. I have taught grades 2-9 in public school and homeschooled my children and grandson at various times in their education journey in grades K, 6,7,9,10,11, and 12. Sixth-grade students are my favorite age to work with and math is my specialty. This is my first year in Fortbend ISD and I cannot wait to meet you! 

When you walk into my classroom you immediately notice the seating is not the standard desk and chairs.  My classroom is set up to allow students to be comfortable and productive. In this student-centered classroom, you will see students collaborating, problem-solving, and presenting their ideas on the posted whiteboard in their stations. Students work respectfully, taking responsibility for their learning, and communicating their ideas and thought processes to others.

Outside of school, I spend most of my time with my family.  My favorite thing is when my grandson comes to visit me.  He and I enjoy creating art, building Legos, geocaching, swimming, reading, learning math, and shopping together. 

I believe in strong connections with the students and parents to ensure students can achieve their best!
