I am so excited to be a Bobcat teaching 6th grade ELA, 6th grade ELA GT, and 6th grade Literacy this year. This is my third year at FCMS and I know that together we can be successful. The last two years I taught 7th grade ELA, but I have taught 6th grade before and for me, it feels like I am coming home.
I grew up in the Houston area and moved to Fort Bend County after I graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Go Bucs! My daughter graduated from Elkins High School in 2013 and lives with me and our dog, Salem, and our cat named Cow. I enjoy travelling, eating out, reading and hanging with my family.
As a teacher, my goal is to inspire independent thinking in my students, instill a love of reading and writing, and prepare them for the road ahead. I hope to give my students a mental toolbox of skills to draw upon as they problem solve and navigate through life. I also hope to help them understand that mistakes are a part of the learning and growing process.
I look forward to working with you to have the best year ever!
