About FCMS

First Colony Middle School, is located at 3225 Austin Parkway Sugar Land, Texas. The school is 20 miles southwest of Houston in the heart of First Colony. Opened in 1985 with a population of 500 students, today we have an enrollment of over 1,200 students in grades 6th through 8th. Our school mascot is the Bobcat. Our international student population reflects the ethnic background of our community. Since 1985, First Colony Middle School has provided outstanding educational opportunities for our students. In 2000, FCMS was named a National Blue Ribbon school. While our boundaries and our population have changed dramatically, one thing that has not wavered is our endeavor to maintain high expectations and to emphasize strong character among all associated with our school. Our students know they are the leaders of tomorrow and they expect a curriculum that will train them for their future positions. We provide our students with the knowledge and tools needed to be successful and we continually reassess the school's importance in preparing our students for the future.
First Colony Middle School is committed to fostering academic excellence while developing the individual strengths and talents of our students, faculty, staff, and community. By addressing the unique needs of early adolescents in a supportive and caring environment, we will develop independent thinking citizens of character.
The rigorous curriculum at First Colony reflects the goals and target areas of importance identified in our mission statement. We offer a broad range of elective courses reflecting the interests and needs of our students. Our fine arts department includes orchestra, band, choir, art and theater. The athletic program offers football, girls' volleyball, girls' and boys' basketball, track, and tennis. We have a Math Counts Club and foreign language class for Spanish. FCMS also offers several clubs for our students. We believe it is important for students to be involved as it fosters teamwork and school pride.
We are Bobcat Proud!
