In 1996 I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After completing my degree, I completed my student teaching at Edgar Glover Elementary. I am a proud graduate of Fort Bend ISD - Willowridge High. My teaching career began in 1997 at Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Fort Bend ISD. My experience is in English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. I have worked as an educator or with the American Federation of Teachers. I am married to my husband, a proud music educator, and we have 5 lovely children, 5 beautiful grandchildren and our dog, Milo. 

In 2009, I graduated with a Masters of Liberal Arts from Houston Baptist University. I completed all the classwork for Educational Administration at Lamar University in 2012.  In 2019, I completed the School Counselor program via Texas Education Agency - Region 13. I became a certified School Counselor and began counseling in the Austin, TX area. I moved back to Houston in 2022 and in 2023 returned home to Fort Bend ISD at First Colony Middle School. 

I look forward to helping your children find their favorite genre(s) of books and love for writing because they will use it for the rest of their lives. I have an open-door policy and always welcome parents to pay a visit so we can work together to ensure that your children get the best experience possible in ELA this year.
