I have worked as a teacher in public schools for eighteen years. Growing up in Fort Bend ISD, taught me to be a life-long learner and I'm so excited to come back home to where my passion for education all began. My favorite years of teaching were when I instructed sixth-grade science. Science explains the wondrous world around us. To me, science is the poetry of our natural world.
My degrees include a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies that I acquired from the University of Houston Downtown. Just recently I obtained my Masters in Educational Technology from the University of Houston Victoria. All of my courses were online and have helped prepare me for this shift to remote learning.
I am the proud wife of a Houston Firefighter and mother to a nine-year-old daughter. We spend as much family time as we can out experiencing our world through travel. Some of our adventures have included observations of the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017, digging for fossils in Mineral Wells, Tx, and hunting for fossilized shark's teeth at Post Oak Creek in Sherman, Tx. I'm an amateur astronomer, certified storm spotter, storm chaser, and photographer.
Just recently with comet Neowise, I was able to bring up my cometary observations to eight total comets. My long-term goal is to observe ten comets if possible.
Students and parents will find most of my updates and information regarding the school year through Schoology. I look forward to adventuring through Science with you!
