Aaron Miller, M. Ed.
I am an accomplished professional with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from TSU and a Master's degree in Education from HTU. With five years of teaching experience in Special Education (SPED) and Computer Labs, I strive to create inclusive and engaging learning environments. My passion for technology and education has led to innovative curriculum development and a dedication to helping students reach their fullest potential.
For the 2025–26 school year, I am excited to teach Computer Science at two campuses—Ronald Thornton Middle School (RTMS) and First Colony Middle School (FCMS).
During my first year in Fort Bend ISD, I had the privilege of coaching 8th grade Falcon football alongside Coach Huffine and Coach Silas, an experience that taught me the value of teamwork both in the classroom and on the field.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring technology trends, science fiction, and coding projects. I look forward to another year of learning, growth, and success for all our students!
Dear Parents,
I’d like to share my approach to teaching in our classroom. Many schools have used what’s called the “banking model of education”, where the teacher talks, students listen, and the main goal is memorization. In that model, students are treated like empty cups that get “filled up” with facts, with little chance to ask questions or think critically.
This method may produce short-term results, but it often leads to:
-
Low engagement (students lose interest quickly)
-
Limited critical thinking (students just repeat answers instead of problem-solving)
-
Less creativity (students don’t get to explore their own ideas)
In our classroom, we take a different approach.
My goal is to help students become active learners, not just passive listeners. Here’s how we do it:
-
Problem-based learning: Working together to solve real-world challenges.
-
Inquiry-based learning: Asking questions and exploring topics that spark curiosity.
-
Dialogue & discussion: Creating space for students to share ideas and challenge assumptions.
-
Project-based learning: Applying skills through hands-on projects that make learning meaningful.
This approach keeps students engaged, builds creativity, and develops real-life problem-solving skills. More importantly, it prepares them for the future—not just for a test.
Thank you for supporting your child’s learning journey. Together, we can make education more engaging, empowering, and meaningful.
