Mrs. Lauree Walker

I am a California native, born in Newport Beach, CA, and raised/lived in Silicon Valley. I am a graduate of San Jose State University, where I majored in Advertising Management with a minor in Psychology.  After studying at San Jose State, I pursued my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Leadership at Fresno Pacific University.  I was also a collegiate water polo player and was extremely active with the young adults group at my church.

I moved to Texas in 2017, when my husband’s job transferred us. I am married with two children, Luke (HS Senior, attending OU in Fall 2026) and Lily (HS Freshman).

I first started teaching in 2006, at the same Middle School I attended. I taught Middle School ELA (all three grade levels) for eight years. I then transitioned to High School Honors English at the same high school I attended years before, and even had the opportunity to teach alongside some of my former teachers. I taught HS ELA for 5 years before moving to Texas. In addition to teaching ELA, I have coached a variety or middle and high school sports- Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming, and Varsity Water Polo.

I started my FBISD teaching journey as a substitute, but was quickly asked to become a long-term substitute at HighTower High School in 2019. A few months later, First Colony asked if I was interested in an ELA position.  I have worked at FCMS since November of 2019, through taking a short break from 2021-2025.  I am an avid horseback rider, owning two horses; volunteer with dog rescues in the Sugar Land and Missouri City areas; go to the gym 6 days a week; currently coach Aquatics (swimming and water polo) for Ridge Point High School, and can be found on most weekends and vacations swimming in the ocean. I believe it an honor to have the opportunity to instruct these amazing Bobcats!  They not only strive to live life in accordance to the "Bobcat way", but they also teach me something new every day!
