I am a graduate of San Jose State University where I majored in Advertising Management with a minor in Psychology. After studying at San Jose State, I pursued my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Leadership at Fresno Pacific University. I was also a collegiate waterpolo player and was extremely active with the young adults group at my church.
I am a California Native and only moved to Texas in 2017. I am married with two children, a boy and a girl, ages 9 & 12.
I first started teaching in 2007, at the same Middle School I attended. I taught Middle School ELA (all three grade levels) for eight years. I then transitioned to High School Honors English at the same high school I attended years before, and even had the opportunity to teach alongside some of my former teachers. I taught HS ELA for 4 years before moving to Texas. In addition to teaching ELA, I have coached a variety or middle and high school sports- Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming, and Waterpolo.
I started my FBISD teaching journey as a substitute, but was quickly asked to become a long term substitute at HighTower High School in 2019. A few months later, First Colony asked if I was interested in an ELA position. I have worked at FCMS since November of 2019. I believe it an honor to have the opportunity to instruct these amazing Bobcats! They not only strive to live life in accordance to the "Bobcat way", but they also teach me something new every day!
