Mrs. Joann Prause
This is my eighth year as the Assistant Band Director for Hodges Bend Middle School. I am a native of Houston, Texas and I grew up in Alief ISD where I learned how to play the clarinet in 6th grade. I decided to become a band director, during my senior year at Alief Elsik High School, when I was the head drum major and band president. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with Education Certification. Before teaching in Fort Bend ISD, I taught one year at an elementary school in Houston ISD that has a band program as part of their 3rd-5th grade curriculum. My husband and I enjoy playing outside with our 2 handsome boys, dog and cat.
