Kelsey Appleby is excited to be the head choir director of the Gator Choirs. She is originally from Georgia. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Shorter University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education.  While at Shorter, she was very active in the music department and performed in several operas including "Cendrillon" and "Hansel unt Gretel."  She also was the student conductor for the Shorter Chorus for 3 years.  She has been working on her masters in Music Education at the University of Oklahoma.  This is her 12th year teaching choir and 11th year at Garcia Middle School.  Under her direction, the Varsity Treble Choir sang at SWACDA in 2020. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Music. In her free time she likes to hang out with her husband, play with her dogs, Nimbus and Zemo,watch Netflix and Hulu, and read.
