My name is Ronald Cambel. I am a math teacher with 34 years of classroom experience. I taught Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Analytic Geometry and Precalculus at Pedro Guevara National High School in the Philippines for 11 years before teaching at Fonville Middle School in HoustonISD for 23 years. I was Teacher of the Year in 2006 and 2018.

I am an experienced teacher, who has held various teaching leadership positions. I was a department chairperson, data tracking and assessment specialist, curriculum writer, grade level team leader, mentor for new teachers, and math competition coach. I was a recipient multiple times of a district-wide highly effective teacher citation for making significant progress for my students.

As an educator, I believe that every student is capable of learning and, with quality instruction in the classroom, all students can achieve their goals. I challenge my students to meet my high expectations, as I provide them with data-driven instructions and a rigorous, engaging, meaningful and safe learning environment.
