My name is Monica Martinez. I have enjoyed teaching science for the past twelve years. I have taught high school science for 6 years and middle school for the past six years.
I earned a Master's in Education: Curriculum & Instruction-Instructional Technology at Houston Baptist University in 2018.
I also earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Environmental Science with a Minor in Biology.
Prior to my career as an educator, I worked as an Environmental Scientist for the US Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC.
I have a loving husband and two beautiful children.
As an educator, it is my role to provide and expose students to engaging, rich, meaningful, and authentic learning experiences. I believe that every student has the ability to be successful, as long as they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for future growth. I believe that learning should be fun, safe, comfortable, rigorous, and accessible to all. I set high expectations for my students, as well as myself. I challenge myself every day to learn new strategies and improve student performance
