Mrs. Amanda K. Slusser

I am Garcia Middle School's Head Theatre Director as well as Fine Arts Department Head. I have written curriculum for the district and am currently a TAPP mentor for first-year teachers. I have completed all requirements to qualify as a National Board Certified teacher and am awaiting my results.

I have been in the theatre and film world for over 25 years.  I was originally bit by the acting bug in Southern California as a child and haven’t given it up since.  I have served many roles in live theatre including actor, director, producer, stage manager, choreographer, costume designer and builder, set designer and builder, and Secretary on the Board of Directors for Upstage Theatre.  I am thankful to have the opportunity to share my passion with young people, and can’t imagine a more rewarding job.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two littles. In my spare time I teach swim lessons, and enjoy archery.  I love all things Harry potter, the color pink, wakeboarding, and anything that demands creativity.
