• Contest Math is an elective in which students prepare to participate in a variety of academic contests. My hope is to help your child increase their mathematical and problem-solving abilities. The contests are made up of high-level mathematics at and above your child’s grade level. Students in Contest Math need to be passionate about learning high levels of mathematics, challenging themselves, and competing against other students. The main goal of the program is growth of student skills.

  • Can you participate in contests without being a part of the Contest Math elective?

Most contests that we participate in require students to be on the school team led by a teacher sponsor. Students cannot participate in those contests without being on the team and in the elective course.

However, there are many academic contests available online that do not require students to be on a school team with a sponsor. Students have many other opportunities to participate in academic contests on their own.

If you have any questions about contest rules and requirements, the rules can be found online for each individual contest website.
