FSMS is a No Place for Hate® Campus
Fort Settlement Middle School has been an Anti-Defamation League No Place for Hate® school since 2005. No Place for Hate® is an initiative of the Anti-Defamation League designed to engage the entire school community in creating a welcoming environment committed to stopping all forms of bias and bullying. Building a culutre of respect and a safe enviornment for students is an important aspect of the program.
According to the Anti-Defamation League, "The campaign has the added benefit of preparing young people to live and work successfully in our pluralistic nation and global community."
No Place for Hate®schools receive their designation by:
- Building inclusive and safe communities in which respect is the goal, and all students can thrive.
- Empowering students, faculty, administration and family members to take a stand against hate and bullying by incorporating new and existing programs under one powerful message.
- Sending a clear, unified message that all students have a place to belong.
