Hi There!

I’m Miss Alexander and this will be my 4th year teaching 8^th grade Science at The Fort. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook Em!) Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a recruiter for Amazon and helped Software Developers get jobs. I was born and raised in Houston by my 2 awesome parents and my little sister. I wanted to be a teacher because it runs in my family – my grandma was an English teacher and my grandpa a Biology teacher. Science has always been in my life and I think it is so important. Science encourages creativity, problem-solving skills, and continues the development of the love of learning. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, shopping, and hanging out with my friends and family. I have a Siamese cat named Coconut, and she is the funniest kitty you’ll ever meet! I am so excited about this year and I cannot wait to meet you all!
