Corrie Portier is an enthusiastic educator with a diverse background in both science and engineering education. Since the fall of 2006, Corrie has been shaping young minds and igniting a passion for learning in students across various disciplines.

A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Corrie holds a degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Science. After earning her degree, she pursued an alternative teaching certificate, achieving Early Childhood through 8th Grade Generalist Certification to better serve her students.

Corrie currently teaches Robotics and Engineering 1, as well as 7th Grade Science. Her previous experience includes a 13-year tenure at Cornerstone Elementary, where she specialized in Science and STEM Lab instruction. Her time at Cornerstone allowed her to develop innovative approaches to teaching and integrate hands-on, experiential learning into her lessons.

Corrie’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of engaging students in meaningful and relevant learning experiences. She is dedicated to creating a classroom environment where curiosity is nurtured, critical thinking is encouraged, and every student feels valued.

Outside the classroom, Corrie enjoys spending quality time with her family, volunteering at her church, and indulging in her creative hobbies. She loves scrap-booking, crocheting, and taking photographs, which not only provide her with personal joy but also inspire her innovative approach to teaching.
