I am beyond thrilled to begin my 10th year teaching as the AVID II teacher for the Early College High School, along with a dual role as the professor for Learning Framework (EDUC 1300) with Houston Community College. Previously, I've taught at Dulles High School and Kempner High school. Some of the courses I've taught include fashion design, interior design, principles of human services, practicum in human services, human growth and development, lifetime nutrition and wellness, AVID I, and PALS. 

Teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember. After graduating from Kempner High School in 2007, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in education. In 2017, I obtained my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. My driving force behind my graduate degree was simply the desire to be a more effective teacher. 

Rita Pearsons's "every child deserves a champion" TedTalk has inspired me to ensure I can be there to support and cheer my students on as they navigate through their first year of college courses.
