For the past 4 years, FSMS has been the beneficiary of having wonderful young engineers from Fluor who have been trained by FBISD as mentors to work 1:1 with some of our students.

These mentors come once a week for about an hour to meet with their mentee.  They meet the students at their point of need whether it is helping with adjustments to middle school, boosting self-esteem, learning how to connect with others, helping students navigate tween years, improving study skills, tutoring students on their school work, etc.

The relationships that have developed have been meaningful and beneficial for our students.  Having another significant adult in our students’ lives who consistently meets with them builds trust and is a welcome source of encouragement for our students.
