Welcome to Cornerstone Elementary School!  This is my eleventh year at CSE and my twentieth year teaching.  I am excited to be leading the CLaSS program (Communication Language and Social Skills) at CSE.  "The goal of CLaSS is to provide students receiving special education services with behavior and social skills necessary to be educated in an inclusive setting, and to increase the student's social and emotional/behavioral abilities in order to be successful in their transition to adulthood.  Overarching goals include increasing independence, social interaction skills, pro-social behaviors, and other skills students can further utilize as they transition to adulthood."   I look forward to teaming up with you to bring out the very best in your child. 

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where my dad and siblings still live.  I attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where I was President of the Council for Exceptional Children, Philanthropy Chair for Delta Zeta Sorority and was chosen Outstanding Junior in Special Education.  My first teaching position was in Ohio, teaching Life Skills in the Cleveland Municipal School District.  I returned to Erie, Pennsylvania to teach Learning Support and was a Special Education Coordinator at the RBW Community Charter School.    

We have a wonderful special education team at Cornerstone Elementary.

Ms. Shakir and Ms. Stafford will be assisting in the CLaSS program.   Ms. Bhanvadia and Ms. Springfield assists during In Class Support.  Our resource teachers are Mrs. Voelkel, Mrs. Leavitt and Mrs. Samoheyl.  Our SAILS department is led by Ms. Hill, along with the help of Ms. Bridgewater and Ms. James.  Lastly Mrs. Rhody is our ECSE lead teacher along with the help of Ms. Gilbert and Ms. Annie.  CSE's Campus Compliance Coordinator is Mrs. Lisa Buckingham.
