Welcome to fifth grade! I am Dana Triska and this will be my twelfth year teaching! I taught fourth grade for 11 years; this will be my first year in fifth! I grew up here in Sugar Land and graduated from Kempner High School. After high school, I graduated from the University of Houston! 

I am married and live in Katy with my husband, our son Oliver, and our dog Rosco. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, going to the movies, and getting together with family!

I believe that to be a great teacher, you have to teach to the different learning styles of the students. That is why, in my classroom, we do lessons that involve moving around the room, creating things with our hands, and integrating technology into our lessons. I try to become aware of each student's strengths and weaknesses and create challenging activities for each of them. I will be providing small group instruction as well as whole group instruction. 

One of my goals is to create a safe learning environment for every child. I try very hard to make sure that every child feels emotionally, physically, and socially safe in my classroom. I greatly encourage communication with parents, and I will reply to all questions and concerns.
