Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Haydee Gilmore, and I am a First Grade teacher at Cornerstone Elementary.  I have had the privilege of teaching both First and Second grade. I have also worked as a Reading Interventionist, and I am certified in bilingual education, ESL and GT trained.

I look forward to the upcoming year and the opportunity of getting to know your children and challenging them both personally and academically.

I was born in Queens, New York but moved to Puerto Rico at a very young age. I  lived in El Paso for 15 years before calling Houston my home. I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I am the proud mom of two wonderful boys, Jonathan and Joshua. I am also a dog mom to a wonderful lab named Chaplin.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping and traveling.
