      • Welcome!

Welcome Parents, Community Members, and Future Chameleons.

Cornerstone Elementary School (CSE) opened its doors in 2007, and as our motto states, has been "Dedicated to Excellence: Every Moment, For Every Student ever since!   We not only provide quality instruction, but also have many clubs and engaging events. Team CSE is dedicated to the success of each student, providing differentiated instruction in all content areas.  We truly believe in providing quality educational experiences for every child. Our teachers take time to get to know your child on an academic as well as a personal level.

Beyond the walls of your child's general education classroom, our Enrichment Teachers will provide learning experiences for your child in the fine arts, STEM and physical education classes, building a positive foundation for a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle.  With a CREST award winning counselor on staff, CSE is sure to provide support for your student's social and emotional well-being.   The library is a place where books come alive and imaginations strive.  Our teachers take time to get to know your child on an academic as well as a personal level.

Thank you for visiting our website.  We are excited to share more about our school with current and prospective students and families!

        Enrollment

All children who are four years of age or over, but younger than 21 years of age on September 1 of any school year in which admission is sought and who reside within FBISD or has a parent/legal guardian (assigned by a court of law) who resides within FBISD are eligible to attend FBISD schools.

Registration must be completed at the school in which the child's residence address is zoned within FBISD (with the exception of Prekindergarten, see below); therefore, parents must contact their child's zoned school for additional enrollment information.

      • Important Campus Information

Arrival/Tardies: In order to avoid a tardy arrival, we request that you drop your student off at school no later than 8:00 am each morning. Teachers will be on duty to supervise students at 7:30 am daily when the doors open. The building is not open to students prior to 7:30am. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria each morning. Students will report to their classrooms at 8:00 am and the tardy bell will ring at 8:10 am. If a student arrives after 8:10 am, the student must report to the front office to receive a tardy slip.

Dismissal: Students dismiss a variety of ways (walk, bike, car rider, day care and bus), so it is crucial that the dismissal is systematic and organized to ensure the safety of all involved. Parents will indicate a dismissal plan with the teacher at the beginning of the school year. In order to adequately prepare for dismissal, students may not be checked out of school after 2:45 pm.

Severe Weather Dismissal Plan: A severe weather dismissal will be called if severe weather (high winds, tornado, lightning, etc.) is present at 2:45 pm. For the safety of our students, no walkers or bike riders will be allowed on these days. Walkers and bikers will follow their severe weather plan developed by their parents. Student will dismiss regularly in rain as long as no severe weather is present.

Extended Day: Extended Day is a service provided by FBISD. Here's the link to the website https://www.fortbendisd.com/extendedlearning Please contact them at 281-634-6410 once your child is registered and they can answer questions you may have about the Extended Day Program.

Visitors and Volunteers: If you plan to visit the school for special occasions, chaperone field trips and would like to volunteer your time; you must complete an electronic history background application each school year. The background application can be found on the FBISD home page. It may take up to two weeks for the school to receive approval; therefore, you may want to complete the form soon to have it ready when the need arises. We value your support and look forward to collaborating with you during the school year!

      • Federal and State Report Cards

Cornerstone Elementary has posted two required, annual performance reports, School Report Card and Federal Report Card.

        School Report Card (SRC)

The SRC is a report required by Section 39.305 of the Texas Education Code and is prepared annually by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for each campus in the state. The School Report Card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.

        Federal Report Card (FRC)

The FRC is a report required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). Each year, TEA prepares an FRC for the State of Texas, each school district and each campus in Texas which is available for public viewing at the link provided (Federal Report Card).
