Welcome to First Grade:
I am super excited to be teaching at Cornerstone Elementary School! This is my third year teaching but I have been with the school for 10 years. I spent four years on the PTA Board and three years as a staff member supporting Outclass and Special Education.
I was raised in New England and went to high school in Wilbraham, Massachusetts at a private boarding school; Wilbraham and Monson Academy. I then made my way to upstate New York for my bachelor's degree in Management/Economics from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.
After spending sixteen years in Finance working for three major companies, I gave it all up to raise my family. My love for the school and helping kids became obvious while working in the PTA for many hours and volunteering in the science room for one year. My path in Education become wide open to explore my opportunites for employment. I love to make kids smile and to keep learning fun. So after being a stay at home mom for eight years, I finally made the decision to go back to work. I feel the power of a quality education is amazing and I want to share that expereince for my students.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Dan and my two children; Carmen who attends Stephen F. Austin high school and Logan who is a proud Cornerstone Chameleon. I also enjoy traveling around the world and visiting different cultures. Eventhough I have lived in Texas 11 years, my favorite football team remains the New England Patriots, but I have a new favorite baseball team, GO ASTROS!!!!
I am excited for my FIRST GRADE class of 2020! I look forward to working with you to create a successful partnership in helping your child maximize their learning potential.
