Cornerstone Elementary School
Cornerstone Elementary is located in the Telfair neighborhood and opened in the fall of 2007. The school opened under the leadership of Christopher Winans and Maria Barrington. In the spring of 2016, Ms. Sonya Smith-Watson served as principal, and continued the tradition of excellence Cornerstone Elementary had achieved since its inception. Currently under the leadership and guidance of Ms. Margaret Murphy, Cornerstone Elementary School continues their "Dedication to Excellence: Every Moment, for Every Student."
True to their mascot name, the Cornerstone Chameleons have changed and adapted through the years, including growing in the number of students and staff, advancing in our use of technology, and implementing current teaching trends and instructional practices. Cornerstone Elementary School upholds the Fort Bend ISD mission to equip, inspire, and prepare students for a future beyond what they can imagine.
We, the Chameleon family, will maximize every student’s academic and personal responsibility by providing vibrant experiences within the school house. We will extend and enrich their learning by providing opportunities to continually change their “colors” to successfully meet academic and social challenges and recognize true friendship is the cornerstone of our community.
Cornerstone Elementary School will produce academic scholars and develop strong character and leadership skills with our students.
