Welcome to MUSIC! I’m so excited for another year of singing, dancing, and playing instruments with all the talented students at Cornerstone Elementary!

I was born and raised in a small town in North-Central Kansas. I began to learn music from an early age, taking piano lessons and then learning to play the saxophone in band. After high school, I found myself traveling for school. I attended Kansas State University, where I received my B.M. in Music Composition. Soon after, I found my way to Texas as I pursued my M.M. in Music Composition at the University of Houston. I decided to stay in the Houston area teaching music after finishing my Master’s degree in 2021.

While I have years of experience teaching private music lessons and working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Music Theory, Cornerstone Elementary is my first public school teaching position. I began working here as the music teacher in October 2021.

I love running. It is my favorite way to exercise and being outside makes me enjoy my day more. You might find me signing up for a half marathon or 5k near you! I also really love playing video games (especially Pokémon) with my friends and family.
