About NWEA MAP Growth Testing
The NWEA MAP Growth assessment measures what students know and what they’re ready to learn next. Unlike a traditional test, MAP Growth adapts to each student’s performance, providing teachers with precise data to guide instruction and support academic growth throughout the school year.
At Sartartia Middle School, students in grades 6–8 take the MAP Growth Reading and Math assessments three times a year — in fall, winter, and spring.

Why It Matters
MAP Growth results help teachers, students, and families:
-
Identify each student’s current academic level and track growth over time
-
Set personalized learning goals and monitor progress
-
Target instruction to meet each student’s individual needs
-
Support placement and intervention decisions for advanced or accelerated instruction
MAP Growth scores are reported using a RIT scale, which shows how a student’s performance compares to national grade-level norms and tracks progress from one testing window to the next.
Accessing Student Reports
Parents and students can review MAP Growth Family Reports after each testing window in Skyward under Portfolio.
These reports include RIT scores, percentile rankings, and growth data to show how students are progressing. If you have questions about interpreting your child’s scores, please reach out to your child’s teacher, counselor, or the Campus Assessment Coordinator.
