Mrs. Tricia Blackwell
You are about to embark on an amazing year of your life, and you are doing it at one of the best places in the world: First Colony
Middle School. Middle School is new, international pandemics are new, and virtual learning was new, and we are going to have a
wonderful time navigating this new adventure together.
My name is Tricia Blackwell, and I get to be your Bobcat Discovery teacher this year. Bobcat Discovery is a class unlike any you've
likely ever experienced. You're not going to learn about academics here; instead, you're going to learn about life and how to be the
person you want to be. The lessons you will learn with me are important lessons that are going to help you with your future. Give
me a few months, and even if you are skeptical, I'll convince you: it's a wonderful class.
A little about me: This is my 28th year in education. I attended the University of Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University.
Before I became a Bobcat, I taught many students how to read and write in K-2 at Lexington Creek Elementary. At work, I love
talking with my students, learning new things from them, teaching them new approaches, sharp fine-point pens, and coffee. Outside
of work, I'm mom to two incredible kids: Zachary (22), Ashley (18) and a wife to my husband Carlon for 24 years. I also have two
fluffly, happy and energetic dogs. Chloe (13), Skye (7 months). I love going on adventures, learning new things, traveling, playing disc
golf, swimming and watching movies.
